HELP FAMILIES IN THE PHILIPPINES
Leaving no family without shelter
In the early hours of Saturday morning, Typhoon Mangkhut tore through the Philippines with winds of around 200 km/h. Thousands of families have been evacuated amid warnings of 6m storm surges. We’re sending a Response Team to help families who have lost everything.
Right now our teams are stretched across the globe – operating in Indonesia, the Lake Chad Basin, Kenya and Ethiopia as well as responding to the conflict in Syria and Iraq.
In this busy time, our resources are severely limited. We rely on our incredible supporters to fund our vital work providing shelter in times of disaster and go where the need is most desperate.
You can help families facing the darkest days of their lives. Please give tents, tools, blankets and other aid items to families devastated by crisis.
We go the extra mile to find the most vulnerable families whose lives have been devastated by disaster. Our work isn’t done until no family is left without shelter.
Communications are still completely down in the North and West of Luzon, the most affected areas, making it very difficult to understand the extent of the damage. We have heard from a local Rotary contact, who has confirmed they are also unable to make contact with the affected areas.

It is likely that there has been significant damage to light structures, such as traditional homes made of light materials like bamboo. We are likely to focus on providing tarpaulins, tool kits and other essential household items.
