ShelterBox is proud to be taking part in this year's Rotary International Convention in Atlanta. Please spread the word and encourage people to come and see us!  There are many opportunities:

ShelterBox ‘interactive’ displays Sat 10 to Wed 14 Jun in the House of Friendship

Come and see our latest aid and hear about our current operations and plans from our Response Teams and Ambassadors.  Our booth numbers are 2347 and 2455 across the aisle. We will be displaying a shelter structure created with a ShelterKit, we will have two different tents (one for warm weather and one for cold weather environments) as well as the latest solar light and other essential aid items highlighting the flexibility of our shelter response.


Presidential Peace Conference Fri 9 Jun 14:30 – 15:30 in the Thomas Murphy Ballroom

We have been invited to take part in the Presidential Peace Conference preconvention in the Thomas Murphy Ballroom at the Georgia World Congress Centre.  Ops Coordinators Rachel Harvey and Jack Bailey will be sharing their experience and highlighting the human impact of the protracted conflict.  Breakout Session 1: How safe is the world? The Crisis in Country and as a Refugee. We will also have a table display for the duration of the Peace Conference on the fifth floor of the Thomas Murphy Ballroom with posters, leaflets and copies of Syrian Refugee children’s artwork. 


ShelterBox Break-Out Session: “Life as a Response Team Member; stories from the field” Tue 13 Jun 2017 16:00 to 17:00 in room B404. 

Meet the Response Team who will be bringing to life the impact of the Partnership and some of the realities of delivering essential Shelter and other aid items to families around the world following disaster.  Derek Locke, Dave Nicholls, Yi Shun Lai and Jack Bailey will be on the panel.


Social Media Breakout Session: Wed 13 Jun 15:00- 16:00

We have been invited to take part in a panel discussion as part of the session “Social Media Best Practices “Examples from Rotary Clubs, Members and Beyond”. Ben Fullman, Social Media Officer at ShelterBox and Sarah Robinson, Director of Fundraising and Strategic Partnerships at ShelterBox USA. The content will be a brief overview of a social media campaign from each organization and on best practices for creating content and telling your story on social media.


ShelterBox/Rotary International Partnership:
This year we have been invited by the RI President John Germ to submit a short film about our partnership. This will be played as part of a general section; date and time TBC


ShelterBox family photo: Tue 13 Jun, 12:00 in the House of Friendship

We will be taking a ShelterBox family photo to be shared on social media. The photoshoot will take place at our main booth on Stand 2237. Please join us at this time and encourage others to come along.
